Sprinting boots and underground mining
Beginning your descent into the eastern dirt layer leads directly toward core movement gear. A Gold Chest holding Hermes Boots sits 374 ft east and 458 ft below the surface, at a distance of 672 ft from spawn. Equipping these boots increases base running velocity, making travel across surface terrain far faster.
While tunneling down to the chest, you will pass veins of Copper, Lead, Silver, Gold that yield materials for an initial anvil, tools, and weapons. Deeper caverns hold a Dead Man's Chest with a Magic Mirror positioned 252 ft west and 840 ft below the surface, measuring 970 ft from spawn. Disarm the pressure plate wiring before grabbing the mirror to avoid trigger traps.
Eastern pyramid and Sandstorm double jump
Traveling across the eastern dunes uncovers 1 pyramid buried in the desert sand. Following the sandstone corridor down leads to a Gold Chest positioned 744 ft east and 80 ft below the surface, located 766 ft from spawn. Inside this chest rests a Sandstorm in a Bottle.
The Sandstorm double jump propels your character into a continuous upward spin, providing the highest vertical boost of any early bottle accessory. Pairing this with running boots allows you to leap over steep terrain easily.
Skyward balloon and surface sword shrine
Looking into the clouds reveals 3 floating islands across the sky. The closest island rests 770 ft west and 438 ft above the surface, measuring 840 ft from spawn. Reaching its Skyware Chest rewards you with a Shiny Red Balloon, which amplifies jump height and combines with your Sandstorm bottle at a Tinkerer's Workshop.
Far to the east, players can seek out 1 sword shrine located 3422 ft east and 28 ft above the surface, sitting 3,424 ft from spawn. The Dungeon waits on the east side of the map.
