Frozen loot and tundra mobility
Heading east into the snow biome exposes ice cavern shafts filled with frozen loot containers. An Ice Chest holding Ice Skates is positioned 1114 ft east and 520 ft below the surface, sitting 1,314 ft from spawn. Wearing Ice Skates prevents thin ice from shattering beneath your feet and increases mobility on slick ice blocks.
Further into the frozen rock layer rests another Ice Chest containing a Blizzard in a Bottle, located 1956 ft east and 264 ft below the surface at a distance of 2,006 ft from spawn. The Blizzard jump provides substantial height, second only to the Sandstorm variant.
Western sword shrine at surface level
Players seeking early melee weapons should travel westward across the grassy surface. A sword shrine rests 1686 ft west and 4 ft below the surface, measuring 1,694 ft from spawn. Because this shrine sits practically at surface level, clearing out a few dirt blocks reveals the enchanted sword pedestal inside.
Breaking the pedestal grants either an Enchanted Sword or a rare Terragrim, giving melee characters an effective projectile attack before fighting pre-hardmode bosses.
Sky islands and cavern mineral veins
Above the world spawn, 3 floating islands drift across the sky. The nearest island is positioned 682 ft west and 402 ft above the surface, measuring 718 ft from spawn, and contains a Shiny Red Balloon inside its Skyware Chest.
Digging deep underground reveals deposits of Copper, Lead, Silver, Gold to forge armor sets, alongside a Gold Chest holding a Cloud in a Bottle located 618 ft east and 950 ft below the surface. The Dungeon stands on the east boundary of the continent.
