The Butcher's Chainsaw is a brutal Hardmode melee weapon and logging tool that deals 120 base melee damage alongside 150% axe power. Functioning as a channeled hold-out implement, it continuously spins against targets in front of the player, dealing rapid damage with 8 knockback. Whenever it strikes an enemy, the chainsaw emits a shower of fiery sparks that fly outward to hit adjacent targets, making it effective at shredding tightly packed groups in narrow cavern passages.

Solar Eclipse acquisition and lumber utility

This motorized tool drops from the Butcher during the post-Plantera Solar Eclipse event at a 2.5% rate in Classic mode, with higher odds in Expert and Master worlds. Outside of combat, its axe power fells thick trees and rich mahogany trunks in seconds. Players can hold down the attack button to carve through whole groves quickly, though its lack of extended reach means swinging broadswords remain safer against agile flying foes.
