Identifying hooked catches before reeling in fishing lines
Sonar Potion is prepared at a placed Bottle or Alchemy Table by mixing Bottled Water, Waterleaf, and Coral gathered from ocean biomes. Drinking it grants the Sonar buff for 8 minutes. When a catch bites the hook, floating text displays the exact name of the item or creature hovering directly above the bobber.
Conserving rare bait during quest and crate angling
By reading the catch name prior to reeling in, anglers can choose to ignore common junk catches, seaweed, and unwanted fish until the line resets. This selective retrieval prevents wasting rare bait on trash items, making fishing sessions far more efficient when hunting specific quest fish, biome crates, or rare alchemical ingredients.
