Ink-spewing cephalopods of coastal waters

Gliding through the deep waters of the Ocean biome, the Squid is an aquatic creature that propels itself using rhythmic water jets. With 30 health and 2 defense, it navigates underwater depths smoothly, dealing 20 contact damage in Classic, 40 in Expert, and 60 in Master mode if swimming explorers collide with its tentacles.

Brewing dark dyes from harvested black ink sacs

The Squid poses minimal danger to prepared divers armed with flippers or water-breathing potions, as its movement in water is slow and predictable. Using tridents, harpoons, or underwater guns dispatches it before it drifts close. Defeating a Squid awards a guaranteed Black Ink at a 100% rate, essential for crafting rich Black Dye at a Dye Vat.

Trivia

  • Squids propel themselves in short bursts by contracting their mantle, coasting between thrusts.
  • Their Black Ink is the sole ingredient required to craft standard Black Dye.
