Seed 69420: A Magic Mirror in the Dirt Layer Below Spawn
Published · measured on Terraria 1.4.5.8 worlds
Beyond being a well-known meme seed, seed 69420 generates one of the quickest Magic Mirror finds available in 1.4.5. Rolled as a Small Crimson map, a Gold Chest sits 118 ft from spawn: 86 ft east and 20 ft below the surface.
Because the chest is only twenty feet beneath the surface grass, any starting character can dig it up in seconds. You can track this container and nearby cavern features on the interactive map. Compare this with other best seeds.
Digging to the shallow mirror chest
Walk east from spawn and dig down through the topsoil. The Gold Chest sits 86 ft east and 20 ft below the surface. Across the whole world, 9 chests hold Magic Mirrors.
Having a mirror right from the start lets you mine deep into caves without worrying about getting lost in dead ends or losing coins to nighttime monsters on the walk back.
Hermes Boots in the western caverns
Venturing west into subterranean tunnels uncovers running boots. A Gold Chest at 482 ft west and 280 ft below the surface holds a pair of Hermes Boots 592 ft from spawn. The map contains 8 chests containing boots overall.
Sprinting allows quick repositioning across long surfaces, helping players avoid face monsters and gather fallen stars after dark.
A trapped double jump container
If you search for a Cloud in a Bottle, note that the closest one at 1192 ft west and 430 ft below the surface (1,290 ft from spawn) is a Dead Man's Chest.
Opening this chest without disarming the surrounding explosives and dart traps triggers an instant kill trap. Always look for wire lines or break suspicious blocks beneath and beside the chest before interacting with it.
World layout and eastern Dungeon
The natural ores generated in this world are Tin, Iron, Tungsten, Platinum. Overhead, 3 floating islands span the sky, with the lowest hanging 856 ft east and 428 ft above the surface.
For late pre-hardmode progression, the Dungeon is positioned on the east side of the map. The subterranean layers contain 97 Life Crystals and 177 chests in total.
