Terraria Map
Published · measured on Terraria 1.4.5.8 worlds
Online seed forums frequently recommend seed 856272589 as a melee warrior paradise, claiming it generates Enchanted Sword shrines right near spawn. However, running seed 2.1.2.856272589 through the modern Terraria 1.4.5.8 world generator tells a different story. The measured world builds 0 sword shrines across this Medium Crimson landscape.
While the sword rumor no longer holds true, the world offers substantial pre-Hardmode compensation with 318 total chests. Check every actual chest and cavern position on the interactive map. Compare this with other best seeds.
Testing the sword shrine claim in 1.4.5
In earlier legacy game builds, terrain algorithms occasionally bunched shrines together under forest clearings. In Terraria 1.4.5.8, revised cavern generation removed those historic shrines entirely from this seed. Searching the surface hills for traditional thin vertical shafts will waste precious daytime.
Instead of wasting daylight searching for absent swords, players should look upward. The atmosphere contains 5 floating islands. The nearest island sits 562 ft west and 694 ft above the surface, 688 ft from spawn, and its Skyware Chest holds a Starfury sword that fulfills early melee and exploration needs, raining falling stars onto enemies.
Real underground loot: Terraspark ingredients and Conch
While sword shrines are absent, the subterranean cavern network holds valuable accessories for crafting Terraspark Boots. An Ice Chest at 1546 ft west and 460 ft below the surface, 1,706 ft from spawn, provides Ice Skates to prevent thin ice breakage. Deeper down, a Gold Chest located 2064 ft west and 1582 ft below the surface, 2,776 ft from spawn, holds a coveted Lava Charm granting molten protection.
For rapid transportation, an underground desert Sandstone Chest at 938 ft east and 230 ft below the surface, 1,078 ft from spawn, holds a Magic Conch to teleport between ocean shores. The underground also features deposits of Copper, Iron, Silver, Gold, 224 life crystals, and the Dungeon waiting on the west side of the map.
