Wearing it raises maximum mana capacity by 20 points and lowers spell mana consumption by 5%. In version 1.4.5, it enchants gem magic by granting homing trajectory and repeating gem bolts to the Amethyst Staff.

Wizard hat synergy and early caster progression

While gem robes provide no base defense on their own, pairing this garment with a Wizard Hat activates an armor set bonus granting a 10% magic critical strike bonus. Alternatively, wearing a Magic Hat provides 60 additional maximum mana. This flexibility allows novice spellcasters to launch homing amethyst bolts from safe distances while exploring dark cavern layers before transitioning toward higher gemstone apparel.
