Goblin Army conquest and chained projectile mechanics
Secured as a rare 0.5% drop from invading Goblin Warriors, Thieves, Peons, and Sorcerers during the Goblin Army event. The Harpoon fires a chained spearhead dealing 25 ranged damage with 6 knockback. Unlike traditional ranged weapons, it consumes no ammunition. The spearhead remains tethered by a chain, instantly resetting its firing cycle the moment it retracts back to the player.
Point-blank burst potential and range tradeoffs
At point-blank range, the Harpoon boasts high burst damage because the projectile returns almost instantly, bypassing normal delay intervals. This mechanism makes it deadly against bulky enemies and multi-segmented bosses like Eater of Worlds. However, its rate of fire drops sharply at distant targets as the chain travels outward. Because its attack cadence depends on travel distance, Godly or Demonic represents its ideal prefix.
Trivia
- The firing speed of the Harpoon scales inversely with distance: the closer the player stands to a target, the faster it can be thrown.
- Despite being classified as a ranged weapon, the Harpoon does not consume arrows or bullets when launched.
