The Hellwing Bow is looted from locked Shadow Chest containers throughout the Underworld or obtained by opening an Obsidian Lock Box hooked during lava fishing. It converts standard wooden arrows into erratic flaming bats that fly forward with piercing properties, dealing 22 base ranged damage per hit. The bats travel along an unpredictable spread, illuminating dark corridors and ripping through multiple targets in a single volley.
Spread fire dynamics and Wall of Flesh efficiency
With a Very fast firing rate of 13 ticks and solid knockback of 5.5, this bow fires a dense volley of projectiles in rapid succession. While its wide inaccuracy makes long-range precision difficult, it serves as one of the most reliable options for defeating the Wall of Flesh, where the sheer size of the boss and its shielding Hungry guarantee that nearly every bat strikes home. The Unreal modifier maximizes damage, fire rate, and projectile speed.
