Graveyard merchant acquisition and wide pellet spread
The Quad-Barrel Shotgun is purchased from the Arms Dealer for 35 gold while he lives in an eerie Graveyard mini-biome after Skeletron has been defeated. Each discharge unloads a burst of 8 pellets across a wide spread, each pellet inflicting 14 base ranged damage. Delivering substantial base knockback of 6.5, this firearm functions primarily as a point-blank blast tool designed to stagger approaching monsters immediately.
Point-blank burst mechanics and boss viability
With an Extremely slow cycle of 55 ticks, mistiming a shot leaves the gunner vulnerable to rapid counterattacks. Because its pellet cone expands aggressively over distance, the shotgun is ineffective for distant sniping, but it excels during the Wall of Flesh encounter where the boss hitboxes are large and broad. Compared to the jungle-sourced Boomstick, it exchanges accuracy for heavier burst density per trigger pull. Reforging to Unreal grants the highest possible bonuses to damage, velocity, and reload speed.
Trivia
- The weapon was introduced in 1.4.0.1 as an exclusive vendor item requiring both a Graveyard biome and post-Skeletron world progression.
