Navigating underworld magma without taking environmental damage
Obsidian Skin Potion is brewed at an Alchemy Table or placed Bottle using Bottled Water, Fireblossom, Waterleaf, and Obsidian. Consuming it applies the Obsidian Skin buff for 6 minutes, granting immunity to lava damage and shielding against the Burning debuff from hot environmental blocks.
Mining scorching hellstone deposits and harvesting hot ore
With lava immunity active, miners can dive directly into deep magma pools in the Underworld to harvest Hellstone deposits and salvage submerged shadow chests. It also protects explorers from contact burns when mining surface Meteorite crash sites, eliminating the need for specialized fire-resistant accessories during early resource gathering.
Trivia
- While immune to lava damage under the Obsidian Skin buff, players still suffer drowning penalties if submerged without breathing equipment.
