Desert cactus brewing for rapid horizontal locomotion
Swiftness Potion is crafted at an Alchemy Table or placed Bottle using Bottled Water, Blinkroot, and a desert Cactus. Drinking the mixture applies the Swiftness buff for 8 minutes, boosting horizontal movement speed and sprint acceleration by +25% across all surfaces.
Kiting hostile bosses along constructed sky bridges
The +25% speed bonus stacks with mobility footwear like Hermes Boots and asphalt blocks, making it easier to outrun fast boss charges during encounters with the Eye of Cthulhu or Wall of Flesh. Maintaining high lateral velocity allows players to dodge projectile barrages while continuously counterattacking along long wooden platforms.
Trivia
- Swiftness Potion increases ground acceleration and movement speed but does not affect maximum flight duration from wings.
