High-grade ore forging and meteorite extraction power
Forged at an Iron Anvil or Lead Anvil using 10 Platinum Bar ingots and 4 Wood, the Platinum Pickaxe delivers 59% pickaxe power. This mining rating allows miners to quarry through Meteorite blocks without relying on bombs or dynamite, alongside excavating all common underground stone and ore veins. It strikes for 7 base melee damage with 2 knockback at a Very fast speed.
Mining cadence advantages over gold tier counterparts
Serving as the alternate counterpart to the Gold Pickaxe, this tool provides superior mining strength and a faster swing rate of 19 use time compared to gold's slower cadence. Pairing this tool with a Mining Potion and Ancient Chisel noticeably hastens tunnel clearing, making it the preferred pre-Hardmode mining implement before venturing into the Underworld for Hellstone, saving valuable mining time.
Trivia
- Requires a world generated with Platinum Ore rather than Gold Ore to craft naturally.
- Possesses 59% pickaxe power, sufficient to mine fallen Meteorite crash sites.
