When equipped, holding right-click while wielding a compatible gun or launcher shifts the screen viewport in the direction of the cursor. This extended vision enables rangers to survey distant terrain and target off-screen enemies with precision long-range weapons like the Sniper Rifle, scouting dungeon rooms safely before entering dangerous kill zones.

Sniper scope evolution and ranged combat utility

At a Tinkerer's Workshop, the Rifle Scope combines with a Ranger Emblem to form the Sniper Scope, and subsequently with Putrid Scent for the Recon Scope. Because their critical strike and damage bonuses stack, rangers frequently pair these upgraded scopes together for superior late-game rifle precision against bosses like the Moon Lord. Menacing or Lucky reforges offer peak offensive potential for boss encounters like Duke Fishron.
