Shimmer
- Shimmer turns it into Ambrosia.
Hallowed orchard harvesting and tier two nourishment
Striking or shaking Pearlwood trees throughout the surface Hallow provides a small chance to dislodge a Star Fruit. Unlike common orchard fruits that only bestow the baseline Well Fed status, consuming a Star Fruit grants the Plenty Satisfied buff for 5 minutes (18,000 game ticks). This tier two nutrition provides +3 defense, +3% critical strike chance, +7.5% damage, and increased health regeneration to bolster early Hardmode survivability.
Beverage brewing and permanent shimmer transmutations
Players can combine Star Fruit with other tropical ingredients at a Cooking Pot to brew Prismatic Punch for extended combat encounters. Dropping this golden fruit into liquid shimmer transmutes it into Ambrosia, an edible relic that permanently increases mining and block placement speed by 5%. Because Hallow trees regrow quickly on pearlstone, players can cultivate dedicated orchards to maintain an ample supply.
Trivia
- Star Fruit is one of the only raw fruits in Terraria that provides the tier two Plenty Satisfied buff rather than baseline Well Fed.
- Excess fruit can be traded to town vendors for 20 silver per piece.
