Ancient Hallowed Plate Mail

Classic decorative styling and altar metallurgy

Crafted from 24 Hallowed Bar ingots at a Demon Altar or Crimson Altar, Ancient Hallowed Plate Mail provides 15 defense and boosts universal critical strike chance by 7%. It can also be obtained by dropping modern plate mail into shimmer liquid. This variant sports the visual aesthetic used prior to update 1.4.0.1 while maintaining identical mechanical performance, giving nostalgic players visual variety.

Full modularity and defensive dodge mechanics

This ancient chestpiece retains complete set bonus compatibility with modern Hallowed armor pieces. Combining it with any Hallowed helmet and greaves unlocks the Holy Protection set bonus, which grants a temporary dodge buff absorbing an attack on a 30-second cooldown. Because defensive stats and set interactions match the modern counterpart, players can mix and match sprites freely without breaking their defensive capabilities against formidable hardmode monsters.

Trivia

• Crafted at a demon altar or crimson altar instead of a hardmode anvil.
• Can be transmuted back and forth with modern Hallowed Plate Mail using shimmer.
