The Bladetongue is acquired by fishing in the Crimson biome during Hardmode, rolling as a rare catch from subterranean or surface waters. Each successful sword swing that connects with an enemy causes the blade to spit a stream of yellow fluid. This acidic projectile strikes nearby monsters and inflicts the Ichor debuff, stripping away 15 points of enemy defense for several seconds of combat.

Melee support debuffing and legendary prefix

Inflicting 55 base melee damage with a use time of 28, Bladetongue serves as an outstanding utility sidearm for melee classes. Instead of swapping to the Golden Shower spellbook and burning mana, warriors can simply tag bosses with Bladetongue to soften their armor before switching to heavy DPS weapons. Legendary is the optimal modifier, boosting damage, swing speed, knockback, and critical hit probability.

• The ichor spray projectile spawns only when the physical blade makes direct contact with a hostile target.
• The weapon resembles a grotesque, fleshy tongue embedded with sharp teeth along its cutting edge.
