Introduced in the 1.4.5 update as an official crossover companion from Palworld, obtained by rescuing a distressed Cattiva encountered across the world. The summon item conjures a feline Cattiva minion that scampers alongside the player, aggressively scratching nearby hostiles for 11 base summon damage with 2 knockback. Beyond direct combat support, Cattiva assists with subterranean resource extraction, scratching adjacent tiles to assist digging efforts and buffing overall player mining speed. Interacting with the item allows the player to pet their loyal companion.

Mining expedition utility and companion evolution

While dedicated combat summons like the Blade Staff or Optic Staff provide higher raw combat output against late bosses, Cattiva serves as a functional exploration partner during cavern resource runs. Its mining acceleration stacks alongside standard mining gear to expedite early Hardmode ore gathering. Players can later enhance the creature into Trusty Cattiva by combining it with a Kinship Peach. The optimal modifier for the weapon is Ruthless, increasing base scratch damage.
