Starting timber harvesting and re-crafting

Provided automatically in every new character's starting loadout, the Copper Axe provides 35% axe power with use time 30. Should the player discard or misplace it, forging another requires 6 Copper Bar ingots and 3 Wood at an anvil. It cuts down forest trees, desert cacti, and mushroom stalks to secure raw resources for initial shelters and basic workstations. With 3 melee damage, it also provides basic knockback against oncoming surface zombies.

Chopping speeds and metal tier upgrades

With 35% axe power, felling mature trees requires several swings per trunk, making it slower than the Tin Axe (40% axe power) and Iron Axe (45%). Players who prioritize rapid deforesting for wood collection or arena leveling typically upgrade to an Iron Axe or Silver Axe quickly. Applying the Light prefix improves its swing rate for faster lumber gathering.
