When equipped in an accessory slot, the Inner Tube causes the player character to float upward rapidly through water and honey. This natural buoyancy prevents accidental drowning by carrying submerged explorers safely back to the surface before their breath meter empties during early ocean expeditions. This reliable buoyancy functions across water and honey, though diving mechanics vary slightly depending on liquid density.

Submerged diving physics and vertical catapult jumps

Players can hold DOWN while in liquid to dive beneath the surface against the tube's natural buoyant force. Releasing the DOWN key while deeply submerged launches the character into the sky with substantial vertical momentum. Combining this accessory with a Flipper grants full aquatic movement control, while umbrellas cushion high launches. Players can exploit the catapult velocity to scout sky islands or leap onto tall cliffs. Explorers can take advantage of the rapid surface ascent to bypass dangerous deep-sea predators and quickly reset their underwater breathing timers.
