Tavernkeep unlock criteria and continuous electric domes
The Lightning Aura Staff is obtained from the Tavernkeep for 60 Defender Medals following the defeat of Golem. Using the weapon erects a tier-three hemispherical field of crackling electricity on the floor. Hostile enemies entering the dome suffer rapid, continuous electric zaps that bypass enemy defense values, rendering the aura equally lethal against armored brutes and weak swarmers.
Defense-penetrating shock fields and Shinobi armor scaling
Hitting for 34 base sentry damage at rapid intervals, the aura provides area coverage without projectile blocking. Equipping Monk's Shirt or Shinobi Infiltrator's Torso broadens the dome's diameter and grants the sentry the unique ability to score critical hits. The Ruthless prefix provides the highest baseline damage boost. Placing these auras at bottleneck tunnels reliably shreds advancing hordes during Old One's Army wave defenses.
Trivia
- Lightning Aura sentries cannot naturally land critical hits unless wearing the Monk or Shinobi Infiltrator armor sets.
- The energy dome damages any quantity of monsters simultaneously without suffering from piercing invulnerability frames.
