Hallowed chest acquisition and persistent rainbow arcs
The Rainbow Gun is retrieved from the Dungeon's locked Hallowed Chest, which opens with a Hallowed Key after defeating Plantera. Firing the weapon projects a luminous curved rainbow arc that travels forward before settling into a stationary light bridge. This beam persists in the air for an extended duration, dealing contact damage multiple times per second to any hostile entity passing through its vivid geometry.
Passive area denial and secondary weapon rotation
The weapon inflicts 45 base magic damage per tick for 20 mana. Because the stationary arc remains active without demanding continuous channeled attention, smart mages place a rainbow bridge across active spawn paths and promptly swap to active burst weapons such as Magnet Sphere or Bat Scepter. The Mythical prefix delivers the strongest balance of damage and mana efficiency. It excels at slicing through segmented worms and defending elevated arena platforms.

- Only one active rainbow beam can exist per player; discharging a second shot instantly removes the prior arc.
