Homing insect swarms and Plantera drop
Dropped by Plantera in the Underground Jungle, the Wasp Gun functions as the Hardmode successor to the Bee Gun. Consuming 10 mana per burst, the weapon expels 2 to 4 homing wasps at a Very fast rate (use time 18). Each insect delivers 31 base magic damage with 0.25 knockback, features innate armor penetration, ricochets off solid blocks up to 3 times, and can pierce multiple hostiles before dispersing.
Hive Pack synergy and magic armor setups
Equipping the Hive Pack grants every generated wasp a chance to transform into a larger variant boasting increased velocity, extra pierce, and boosted base damage. When worn alongside a Spectre Mask, every successful wasp impact triggers homing spectral bolts that swarm nearby targets. Alternatively, switching to the Spectre Hood draws continuous life-stealing healing pulses from targeted groups. The premier modifier is Mythical.

- Unlike the pre-Hardmode Bee Gun bees, wasps fired by the Wasp Gun pass through water freely without dying.
