Desert sand collecting and vivarium construction
Scorpions crawl across sandy surface dunes in Desert biomes during daytime hours. Players capture them by swinging a Bug Net or Golden Bug Net. Once caught, a scorpion can be placed inside an empty Terrarium to construct an animated Scorpion Cage for base display, or combined with 50 stone blocks at a Heavy Assembler to carve a decorative Scorpion Statue.
Angling efficiency versus merchant trading
Providing 10% bait power, the standard scorpion functions as basic fishing bait, though its relatively low potency means it can be consumed quickly during casting. Its nocturnal cousin the Black Scorpion yields higher bait quality. Because merchants purchase captured scorpions for 15 silver, selling these desert arachnids in quantity often generates superior economic profit compared to expending them on early fishing expeditions.
Trivia
- Spawns naturally on exposed sand blocks in the Desert biome while the sun is up.
- Carrying a bug net allows safe capture without provoking hostile arachnid behavior.
