Found inside Wooden Chests scattered across the surface or obtained through Wooden Crates, the Umbrella serves as an essential early traversal tool. When held overhead while airborne, the canopy slows the player falling velocity and eliminates all accumulated fall damage upon landing. This allows adventurers to leap into deep cavern chasms and hellevator shafts without fear of lethal ground impacts.

Cavern navigation and legendary prefix

While primarily valued for its gliding utility, the Umbrella can also be swung as a melee weapon dealing 10 melee damage with 5 knockback. Swung with an 22 use time at Fast pace, its short reach can swat away pesky surface slimes or bats when caught unprepared. Holding the umbrella overhead also shields players against direct sun exposure in vampire-themed secret world seeds. Until players locate a Lucky Horseshoe or craft wings, keeping an umbrella on the hotbar provides dependable vertical mobility. Reforging to Legendary optimizes swing speed and knockback.
