Drops
Alien Larva drops nothing in the game's drop rules.
Vortex hatchlings crawling under celestial clouds
Spawning from slain Alien Queens or vortex wormholes, the Alien Larva is a small ground crawler in the Vortex Pillar zone. With 200 health and 6 defense, it slithers across soil and platforms, inflicting 50 contact damage in Classic, 100 in Expert, and 150 in Master mode if stepped on.
Crushing vulnerable grubs to prevent hornet maturity
Although the Alien Larva appears fragile and deals modest damage, it represents an urgent tactical threat during the pillar battle. If allowed to survive for several seconds, it cocoons and metamorphoses into an Alien Hornet, which can later become a Queen. Sweeping the ground with piercing explosives or broadswords crushes larvae instantly.
Trivia
- Alien Larvae have very low defense, making them susceptible to nearly any high-tier weapon.
- Defeating them counts toward the kill count required to break the Vortex Pillar's shield.
