Voracious swimmers of crimson waters
Blood Feeders are aggressive piranha-like fish that dwell in the blood-tinted waters of the Crimson biome, as well as surfacing during Blood Moon fishing. Swimming with swift, darting movements, they attack anything that enters their pool with 150 health and 20 defense, tracking swimming players through murky depths.
Surviving aquatic ambushes and harvesting monster meat
A strike from a Blood Feeder deals 50 contact damage in Classic and 100 in Expert, making underwater mining in the Crimson treacherous without water-clearing gear or breathing reeds. Defeating them yields Monster Meat at a 0.067% rate, providing a source of dietary food buffs to boost player health regeneration and defense.
Trivia
- Blood Feeders can be caught using a fishing rod during a Blood Moon in Crimson waters.
- They move significantly faster when pursuing players submerged in liquid.
