Orbital eyeball swarm around the brain
Creepers are the ocular minions that circle the Brain of Cthulhu during the first phase of the boss fight in the Crimson. Spawning in a dense ring around the central brain, each individual Creeper carries 100 life and 10 defense, dealing 20 contact damage in Classic, 36 in Expert, and 54 in Master. While any Creeper remains alive, the main boss remains completely invincible to all attacks.
Piercing tactics and crimson tissue drops
Eliminating Creepers requires wide-swinging piercing weapons like the Blood Butcherer, Rotted Fork, or Jester's Arrows fired from a Tendon Bow. Because Creepers crowd tightly around the player during attack sweeps, piercing strikes hit multiple eyeballs at once. Slaying Creepers is the primary source of Crimtane Ore (66.7%) and Tissue Samples (66.7%), meaning players can craft Crimson armor even without defeating the final phase of the boss.
Trivia
- The Brain of Cthulhu cannot take damage from player weapons until every orbiting Creeper has been slain.
- Creepers do not respawn once destroyed, permanently weakening the swarm throughout the encounter.
