Towering fleshy horrors stalking crimson grasslands
The Face Monster is a hulking humanoid horror that stalks the surface and upper caverns of the Crimson. With 70 life and 10 defense, it lumbers forward relentlessly, striking for 25 contact damage in Classic, 50 in Expert, and 75 in Master. Its tall stature and high knockback resistance allow it to absorb weak blows without breaking stride.
Repelling relentless shamblers with knockback weapons
Because Face Monsters can easily corner explorers in narrow valleys, engaging them from elevated blocks or using weapons with substantial knockback like the Ball OHurt keeps them safely at bay. Slaying a Face Monster yields Vertebrae at a 33.3% rate, alongside the Tentacle Spike at 0.19% and Monster Meat at 0.067%.
Trivia
- Face Monsters have higher mass and knockback resistance than basic surface zombies, requiring heavier hits to repel.
