Floating crimson eyes across red landscapes
The Crimera is a hovering eyeball predator native to the Crimson biome in pre-Hardmode. Armed with 40 life and 8 defense, it flies in undulating trajectories toward player positions, dealing 22 contact damage in Classic, 44 in Expert, and 66 in Master. It functions as the Crimson equivalent of the Corruption's Eater of Souls, patrolling red chasms and open skies.
Harvesting vertebrae for the bloody spine
Because Crimeras frequently attack in small swarms while players traverse uneven terrain, swinging broadswords or aiming bows with steady knockback keeps them at bay. Defeating Crimeras offers a 33.3% chance to harvest Vertebrae, essential components for crafting the Bloody Spine to summon the Brain of Cthulhu, alongside nutritious Burgers at 1% and the Tentacle Spike (0.19%).
Trivia
- It represents the Crimson ecological counterpart to the Eater of Souls, sharing similar aerial tracking AI.
- Vertebrae collected from Crimeras can also be brewed into Monster Lasagna at a cooking pot.
