Drops
Probe drops nothing in the game's drop rules.
Detached laser batteries of the mechanical destroyer
Probes are autonomous surveillance drones that detach from the segmented body of The Destroyer as it takes damage. Drifting through open air and stone walls with 200 life and 20 defense, they swarm the battlefield in escalating numbers. Each probe hovers near the player, firing bright red laser beams that inflict 50 base damage from all angles.
Sustaining combat vitality through probe extermination
While a large swarm of Probes can fill the sky with lethal laser fire, defeating them is the primary method of surviving the mechanical worm battle. Every slain probe drops a healing heart, restoring health and providing combat sustain. High-rate-of-fire weapons like the Daedalus Stormbow or Megashark eliminate probes before their crossfire becomes fatal. In Master mode, their durability scales to 450 life with 120 damage.
Trivia
- Probes detach from Destroyer segments whenever those individual segments take sufficient damage.
- Every defeated Probe drops a healing heart, offering crucial sustain during the boss fight.
