Wandering Eye in Terraria

Enemy Banner: Wandering Eye Banner

That suspicious feeling of being watched may very well come true in the dark of night, when Cthulhu's minions roam the skies.

Bestiary entry and numbers read from Terraria 1.4.5.8 itself.

Nocturnal ocular horrors baring fangs at low health

The Wandering Eye is a dangerous flying adversary that prowls the surface world at night in Hardmode. Built with 300 life and 20 defense, it glides through darkness, delivering 40 contact damage in Classic, 80 in Expert, and 120 in Master mode. When damaged below half health, its outer cornea sloughs away, revealing a gaping ring of fangs that charges aggressively.

Harvesting black lenses for optical crafting arrays

Because the second phase increases its dash speed dramatically, players should use automatic firearms or high-knockback repeaters to keep it at distance. Slain Wandering Eyes drop standard Lenses at a 33% rate, the Wandering Eye Kite at 4%, and the rare Black Lens at a 1% rate, needed to craft the Optic Staff.

Trivia

  • Wandering Eyes emulate the two-phase transformation behavior of the Eye of Cthulhu boss.
