Ancient Shadow Greaves

Chasm hunting and corrupted drops

These ancient greaves drop from the Eater of Souls lurking within the Corruption, possessing a 0.19% drop rate. Players can also obtain them by dropping regular Shadow Greaves into shimmering liquid. They provide 6 defense and grant a passive 5% boost to critical strike chance across all damage types, strengthening both melee swings and ranged shots.

Interchangeable armor sets and shadow acceleration

These ancient leggings share full compatibility with modern Shadow armor components, including Shadow Helmet and Shadow Scalemail. Completing any combination of the three pieces activates the set bonus, granting +15% movement speed and a shadowy trail. This provides warriors with swift mobility during battles against the Eye of Cthulhu. Because this legwear shares stats and appearances with standard shadow armor, players can transition smoothly into corruption combat roles without losing set bonuses.

Trivia

• Ancient Shadow armor pieces use the original spritework from early Terraria release versions.
• Tossing these greaves into Shimmer transforms them into standard Shadow Greaves.
