Shimmer
- Shimmer turns it into Ambrosia.
Canopy foraging in corrupted woodlands
Blackcurrants are harvested by striking Ebonwood trees growing within the Corruption biome. Each axe blow against a corrupted tree trunk has a chance to trigger a tree shake, dropping dark berries from the corrupted flora table. Consuming a Blackcurrant provides the Well Fed buff for 5 minutes (18,000 ticks), increasing player defense by 2, damage output by 5%, and movement speed by 10%.
Dark smoothie distillation and permanent stat boosts
Players can combine Blackcurrants with corrupted drops at a Cooking Pot to concoct a Smoothie of Darkness, crafting an extended meal for exploration. Throwing a Blackcurrant into shimmer transmutes it into Ambrosia, which permanently enhances mining and block placement speed by 5%. If players accumulate extra berries while clearing corrupted timber, each piece can be sold to merchants for 20 silver.
Trivia
- Blackcurrants represent the corrupt tree counterpart to the Crimson's Blood Orange fruit.
- Unlike the hostile creatures inhabiting the Corruption, shaking corrupt trees for fruit can be performed without weapons.
