Sapphire infusion and radiant energy slashing
The Blue Phaseblade is crafted at an Iron Anvil or Lead Anvil by combining 15 Meteorite Bar ingots with 15 Sapphire gems. Emitting an azure glow during swings, this broadsword strikes for 26 base melee damage. Its brisk Very fast speed of 18 ticks allows players to fend off dark cavern creatures while illuminating black corridors without burning wood for torches. The weapon provides continuous melee swings against approaching surface zombies.
Cavern self defense and Hardmode Phasesaber transition
Unlike conventional pre-Hardmode broadswords, the Blue Phaseblade pierces pitch-black areas with vivid sapphire illumination during each swing. It outperforms standard gold and silver swords in base strike strength while remaining easy to assemble after mining a single meteor site. Its energy blade does not require ammunition or mana upkeep, making it an efficient everyday mining companion. Upon entering Hardmode, combining this sword with 25 Crystal Shard growths at an anvil produces the Blue Phasesaber. Reforging to the Legendary prefix provides the highest possible boosts to damage, swing speed, size, and knockback.
Trivia
- Phaseblades emit a distinct electronic hum when swung, referencing energy swords from classic science fiction.
