Cursed flame barrier and persistent knockback wall

Dropped by Corrupt Mimic enemies in Hardmode with a 20% drop rate. Expends 40 mana to erect a tall vertical pillar of green cursed fire on any solid surface that remains active for 5 minutes. Any enemy attempting to pass through the flame takes 43 base magic damage at Fast ticks with a 24 use time, suffers strong 8 knockback that repels attackers, and receives the Cursed Inferno debuff.

Defensive perimeter defense and invasion management

The Clinger Staff is one of the most effective area-denial tools available in early Hardmode. While its single-target boss damage against agile foes like Skeletron Prime is modest, it excels during event invasions such as the Goblin Army or Pirate Invasion, as well as against ground-based worm bosses like The Destroyer. Setting down a wall allows mages to switch freely to primary damage staves like Crystal Serpent.

Trivia

• The flame barrier remains active for a full five minutes, allowing players to establish defensive perimeters before triggering major combat events.
• The Cursed Inferno debuff inflicted by the wall prevents health regeneration and continues to burn even when underwater.
