Adventurers obtain the Demonic Hellcart by opening locked Shadow Chest caches in the Underworld using a Shadow Key. It also possesses a 5% chance of appearing inside Obsidian Crate and Hellstone Crate packages obtained through lava fishing. This makes it an accessible Underworld reward for dedicated lava anglers using lavaproof fishing gear, hotlines, and underworld bait in bottomless magma lakes.

Fiery immunity and hellish speed

Riding the hellcart grants seven seconds of extra lava immunity, giving riders valuable protection if tracks dip into molten magma lakes. It also discharges bright fiery embers behind the carriage wheels while in motion. This extra buffer resets after exiting lava, making it an ideal transport vehicle when constructing underworld bridges for the Wall of Flesh battle or mining perilous hellstone veins. Its resilient iron plating and demonic horns provide clear visual distinction when speeding across underworld bridges above dangerous lava falls.
