Lingering energy vortex deployment and rocket payload
Dropped by the Martian Saucer during the Martian Madness event, the Electrosphere Launcher converts standard ammunition such as Rocket I into electrified probes. Upon striking an enemy or tile, the missile manifests a persistent electrical vortex that lingers in place for several seconds. Any hostile creature entering or remaining within this field takes rapid 40 base ranged ticks with 2 knockback without risking self-inflicted explosive damage to the player.
Chokepoint area control and launcher upgrades
This weapon excels at locking down stationary bosses such as Golem or anchoring invasion spawn points. Unlike direct impact weapons like the Snowman Cannon, the stationary spheres deliver high cumulative damage against large targets that fail to move away. Setting up multiple overlapping vortexes across an arena doorway creates a deadly barrier for incoming enemies. The Unreal modifier grants the highest bonuses to fire rate, critical strike chance, and projectile velocity.
Trivia
- Electrospheres do not cause self-damage to the player even when detonated at point-blank range.
- The persistent electrical fields can damage multi-segmented bosses across several segments at the same time.
