Smelted from 8 Gold Bars at an Iron Anvil or Lead Anvil, the Gold Broadsword is the pinnacle ore blade in worlds populated by gold deposits. Swinging through an overhead clearing arc at 18 use time, it delivers 15 base melee damage paired with 6.5 knockback to repel aggressive cavern monsters and nighttime undead.
Early cavern defense and gold tier upgrades
While slightly surpassed by its platinum counterpart, the Gold Broadsword easily outperforms silver and tungsten swords in reach, damage, and swing speed. Its sweeping hit arc is well suited for protecting players from demon eyes, cave bats, and leaping spiders. Like the platinum sword, it also acts as a crafting ingredient alongside 5 Stinkbugs to produce the Flymeal. When reforged at the Goblin Tinkerer, the Legendary modifier grants the best bonuses to attack speed, size, and damage.
