Gungnir is crafted from 12 Hallowed Bar ingots at an Orichalcum or Mythril Anvil. As a dedicated Hardmode spear, it extends a radiant golden shaft forward upon use, emitting bursts of bright yellow sparkles that illuminate caverns during exploration. The thrust pierces an unlimited number of enemies in a straight line, delivering 61 base melee damage along its full reach.

Defensive wall spacing and godly reforge

With its generous thrust reach, Gungnir excels at keeping dangerous melee enemies at bay, outperforming shorter polearms like the Titanium Trident during crowded cavern encounters. Because spears cannot receive prefixes that modify weapon size or attack speed, the Legendary modifier cannot roll on this weapon. Instead, Godly represents the best modifier available, granting maximum bonuses to damage, critical strike chance, and 6.4 knockback.
