It drops with a 12.5% chance from the Blood Eel and Hemogoblin Shark, two dangerous minibosses encountered by fishing during a Hardmode Blood Moon. Striking with 30 base melee damage and 7 knockback, it provides stout defensive capability while serving as both an axe and a hammer.

Early altar demolition and progression pacing

With 80% hammer power, the Haemorrhaxe satisfies the eighty percent hammer requirement to destroy Demon Altars and Crimson Altars, matching the Pwnhammer without requiring immediate Wall of Flesh farming. Its formidable 150% axe power also fells trees rapidly. Because it performs standard swung melee attacks, the Light prefix yields optimal swing speed for remodeling terrain, while Legendary improves combat efficiency against nocturnal blood enemies.
