Predatory behemoths of the blood moon deep
The Hemogoblin Shark is a hulking amphibious beast hooked from open water during Blood Moon fishing in Hardmode. Possessing 5,000 health and 30 defense, it climbs out of bloody lakes to pursue players on land, delivering 70 contact damage in Classic, scaling to 140 in Expert and 210 in Master. In combat, it fires salvos of homing blood globules from its jaws.
Blood thorn spikes and heavy axe drops
Because the Hemogoblin Shark combines heavy melee charges with projectile barrages, fighting it on elevated wooden platforms is essential for survival. Slaying this aquatic titan yields premier Blood Moon gear: the Blood Thorn spell tome at a 12.5% rate, which summons thorny floor spikes, and the Haemorrhaxe axe at 12.5%, along with Chum Buckets (50%).
