Deerclops drop and autonomous sentry placement
Houndius Shootius drops from Deerclops with a 25% drop rate in Classic mode or from its Expert/Master mode Treasure Bag. It places a stationary cyclopean sentry onto ground tiles at Average deployment speed (30 use time) without consuming mana. The sentry persists for ten minutes, automatically targeting nearby monsters in line of sight and firing heavy bolts that deal 24 base sentry damage with 7.5 knockback.
Area defense, arena anchoring, and modifier choice
The sentry provides dependable supplemental fire during boss arenas, goblin invasions, and Blood Moons without occupying minion capacity. Because it cannot move to pursue fleeing enemies, placing it along planned boss kiting paths is necessary. Ruthless is the optimal prefix, providing the highest pure damage boost since sentries do not benefit from speed or knockback reforge alterations.
