It sharpens close-quarters engagements by granting 10% increased melee damage and 8% increased melee critical strike chance, establishing a dependable defensive baseline for early Hardmode skirmishes. Crafting the piece requires access to an anvil forged from mythril or orichalcum bars.

Critical strike scaling in tier two hardmode

When paired with Mythril Chainmail and Mythril Greaves, the set bonus delivers an additional 10% melee critical strike chance. This raises the warrior's base critical rating significantly without relying on accessories, producing consistent burst damage against wandering cavern aberrations and early encounters with Skeletron Prime. The critical strikes improve damage output during close brawls and tight tunnel encounters.
