Rainbow Crystal Staff is an endgame sentry summoning weapon obtained as a drop from the Moon Lord. When deployed near the cursor, it summons a floating prismatic crystal that remains stationary for ten minutes. As hostile enemies approach within range, the crystal fires multiple colorful light beams downward toward nearby terrain. These beams detonate after a brief delay, generating overlapping explosive bursts that deal 130 base sentry damage and 7.5 knockback to all nearby targets.

Defensive sentry placement and swarm management

Rainbow Crystal Staff pairs with the Lunar Portal Staff as the two highest-tier sentry weapons in the game. While the Lunar Portal Staff excels at sweeping its laser across agile single bosses, the Rainbow Crystal Staff provides superior area-of-effect burst damage against dense swarms of enemies, making it the preferred sentry for the Old One's Army and pumpkin moon events. Because sentry minions do not benefit from weapon critical strikes or knockback boosts, the Ruthless modifier is the best prefix for raw damage output.
