Enhanced Hardmode locomotion and dash velocity
Trusty Chillet represents the Hardmode evolution of the crossover quadruped mount, offering upgraded agility across uneven ground. By deepening its bond with the player, this evolved mount increases its dash speed from 6.5 up to 9, allowing riders to sprint across open arenas and evade boss attacks. Its leaping height expands from 6 tiles to 11 tiles, clearing tall ledges without requiring separate climbing claws. It retains reduced fall damage and the double-tap Rocket Slam charge to strike through enemy formations.
Kinship upgrade requirements and combat synergy
Creating this upgraded companion requires combining standard Chillet with a Little Kinship Peach by hand without needing an anvil or furnace. While mounted, Trusty Chillet maintains the passive 10% damage increase across all melee, ranged, magic, and summon weapons. This constant offensive boost provides a steady platform for mobile combat during Hardmode invasions and mechanical boss encounters. Players can also interact with the creature through right-click petting animations.
Trivia
- Feeding a Little Kinship Peach upgrades the mount's jump height and top dash speed.
