Rail transit mechanics and ramming momentum
The Minecart serves as the standard rail mount in Terraria, operating across placed Minecart Track networks throughout the world. When traveling along rails, the cart steadily accelerates until reaching a top speed of 66 mph. Moving at top speed deals contact damage and knockback to enemies on the track, allowing miners to push past monsters without dismounting. Riding rails also prevents fall damage, making track systems a dependable transit method for surface travel, cavern tunnels, and underworld bridges.
Anvil assembly and upgraded variants
Crafting the cart requires combining 15 iron bars or lead bars with 10 wood at an Iron Anvil or Lead Anvil. Once made, the cart sits in the dedicated minecart equipment slot and accepts vanity dyes. The vehicle also functions as a crafting material: combining it with a Whoopie Cushion yields the Fart Kart, which preserves the same rail speed while releasing gas bursts during jumps.
