Scaly Truffle

Fishing Cavern biomes for the Pigron

The Scaly Truffle is reeled in by fishing within the Cavern layer in an overlapping Snow biome corrupted by the Corruption, Crimson, or Hallow. Catching one demands high fishing power and patience in subterranean ice waters. Upon use, it summons a loyal Pigron mount equipped with small draconic wings. The Pigron runs along the floor at moderate speeds before accelerating into a sprint, accompanied by snorting breath puffs and bubbly footsteps.

Flight capability and horizontal mobility

What sets the Pigron mount apart from standard ground beasts is its ability to take flight. The mount can flap upward continuously for roughly three seconds, scaling towering underground cliffs or soaring over hazardous lava lakes. It negates fall damage on landing, preventing fatal drops when navigating dark caverns. Obtaining the Scaly Truffle early in Hardmode offers players dependable aerial positioning before they forge high-tier wings from boss souls.
