Terraria 1.4.5.4 patch notes

This update adds a menu for switching unlocked Secret Seeds on and off, and lets players buy and craft items in batches of 10 with Left Shift. Several weapons get balance changes, and a long list of crashes, exploits and visual bugs is fixed.

Balance

• The Whip's hitbox is restored to match 1.4.4, and the backswing visuals were adjusted to fit. The swing now always collides as if it goes up to down.
• Mushroom Staff damage rises from 5 to 8.
• Thunder Zapper damage rises from 20 to 24.
• Flinx Fur Staff now costs 6 Flinx Fur instead of 10, the same as before 1.4.5.
• Clouds can now be mined twice as fast.

Crashes, loading and multiplayer

• Spore Sac code was optimized in multiplayer.
• Worlds that failed to load because of a bug with placed critters now load successfully.
• A crash caused by the Book Worm achievement is fixed.
• A crash involving chests and dressers on certain platform setups is fixed.
• Quick stacking items to nearby chests in multiplayer now makes them available to other players who have craft from nearby chests enabled.
• Several multiplayer issues on Skyblock worlds are fixed.
• Several Linux issues are fixed.

Exploits

• An item duplication exploit involving transformation mounts is fixed.
• An exploit involving Roller Skates and wings is fixed.
• An exploit involving high mining speeds and certain melee weapons is fixed.
• A bug with minecart tracks that let players slide on air is fixed.
• Roller Skates no longer wrongly grant immunity to fire blocks.

Items, drops and NPCs

• Villagers no longer refuse to arrive when Truffle is homeless.
• The Chain Knife now drops in pre-Hardmode.
• The Empress of Light's Treasure Bag drops 3 Prismatic Dye instead of 1.
• The Reindeer Bells can be quick-equipped again.
• Chillet mounts can no longer move through solid blocks.
• Digtoise now disappears during the Old One's Army event.
• The Tavernkeep no longer sells Town Pylons, to fit his fully unlocked shop.
• The Skyblock seed now grants the A Rare Realm achievement.

World generation and visuals

• The Dungeon entrance no longer ends up on a Floating Island in several cases.
• Sandstorm visuals now appear in Crimson and Hallow Deserts.
• Pine Wood blocks no longer turn invisible at times.
• Several fences had no map colors and now have them, and some existing fence colors were improved.
• The Snow biome's Aurora effect now fades out when returning to the title screen.
• The Hallowed biome's background rainbow no longer flickers when moving.
• Placing Hallowed blocks in certain biomes no longer breaks the background in some cases.
• A missing pixel in Master Mode's defense counter is fixed.

Interface and other fixes

• Inputs are no longer missed at low framerates in some cases.
• The Screen Shake option now keeps its value between sessions.
• The inventory no longer becomes unresponsive when autopause is on and the inventory is opened while using an item.
• Craft buttons no longer overlap the chest inventory at certain UI scales on gamepad.
• The Snowball Launcher regains its Wireable tooltip.
• A typo in the Logic Gate (XOR) tooltip is fixed.
• Wrong messages no longer appear on the Endless Christmas secret seed.
• Several localization errors are fixed.
